How / when was the organization of your Erasmus mobility in Ireland?

My Erasmus in Cork took place from June 16 to 21, 2019, and as I know the procedures I organized everything myself

Did you have any concerns about this mobility?

Absolutely not, on the other hand for my students a little more because it is always a bet to send them on Erasmus abroad, will they succeed in adapting to a foreign environment, especially to a professional one?

How did your mobility go? What was the purpose?

The purpose of this mobility was to support 7 STAV pupils who themselves were going to Ireland for professional mobility, a one-month internship in a company in Cork and its surroundings. I accompanied them to their host family and their respective businesses (sometimes a 2hour and a half drive from Cork) in landscaping work, in a riding school or in a farm. I met all the internship supervisors and explained the expectations and requirements of each, even if an internship agreement is signed upstream. I also "scouted" potential future internship masters, especially in the field of pruning because as an Erasmus referent, a vocational school colleague asked me for internships for his apprentices. And it is always interesting to create an international professional network.

Have you had the opportunity to have cultural tours?

I already knew Ireland on a personal basis so I was not in the discovery itself but I had a little time to increase my personal culture by going to the gardens of Blarney and its castle in order to get information. on their professional methods as well as at the black castle

What did you personally and professionally learn with this mobility?

That it is essential to initially support pupils for their installation in the host country, this reassures them, reassures parents and foreign internship supervisors as well. Especially when it is a very first international internship over a long period. Professionally, the establishment you represent confirms its seriousness and becomes less virtual thanks to you. On a personal level, it is always rewarding to meet people and see the foreign partners with whom you collaborate.

Would you recommend doing an Erasmus?

As an English teacher, I encourage everyone, regardless of the mobility type , to do an Erasmus because language immersion is a vector of fast and lasting progress in a foreign language and as an Erasmus referent in Agrocampus I do my best to make students and staff want to try it out.
